Intellectual resources
Changping is one of the areas concentrated with scientific research institutes for higher education in Beijing, featuring 43 universities like China University of Political Science & Law, Branch of Peking University, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, North China Electric Power University, Petroleum University, Beijing Agricultural College and Branch of Tsinghua University, as well as 113 institutes like Institute of Nuclear and New Energy Technology, Tsinghua University, and more than 200,000 college students. All these ensure adequate talents and intellectual supports for the economic development in this district. Shahe University Town under construction will take up a total area of 799.72 hectares, with a constructed area of 4.55million square meters, involving an investment of about 10billion yuan. As the construction of university town starts, five universities will be located in Changping, namely, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Beijing Normal University, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, China Foreign Affairs University and Central University of Finance & Economics, together with their faculties and students counting 100,000.
Business environment
A large number of malls and supermarkets, including Guotai Department Store, New Century Mall, Sunshine Shopping Mall, MerryMart Supermarket, Xiaobaiyang Supermarket, Da Zhong Electronics, and Gome, bring about great convenience to people’s life. With a constructed area of about 400,000 square meters, Zhongguancun International Shopping Mall, the largest world-class shopping center, was placed in Huilongguan Town of Changping District.
Medicine and health
There’re now more than 60 medical institutions in the district, having 4 at the level of Two-A, and the Three-A hospitals under construction now include PKU International Hospital and Union Int’l Medical Center; Besides, the Branch of Jishuitan Hospital was planned to be placed at Huilongguan Town of Changping.
Supporting residences
Changping District now boasts a lot of residences and high-class commercial apartments. The number of real estate projects in Changping ranks the 2nd place in Beijing, with No. 1 construction scale in the capital. Huilongguan Cultural Settlement, the largest cultural settlement in Beijing, is located here; the top-class villa zone, represented by Bishui Garden, Long Cheng Villas, Wangfu Garden and Rose Garden, provided people with a most comfortable living environment.
